Jim Popkin

Jim Popkin is a leading expert in strategic & crisis communications. He is the founder and president of the Seven Oaks Media Group in Washington, DC. A former award-winning investigative journalist, Popkin advises corporate & non-profit clients facing challenges.

 
 

Popkin and his team of veteran print and broadcast journalists have led sophisticated media campaigns on behalf of a large slate of clients. They provide confidential strategic counsel to CEOs and executives. His clients have included Fortune 50 companies, leading international non-profits, tech startups, and many others. In 2019, former Special Counsel Robert Mueller hired Popkin to advise him and serve as his spokesperson.

Popkin worked for more than 20 years at NBC News and at national print publications. His experience as an on-air reporter at one of the country’s preeminent news organizations has given him a unique perspective in managing his clients’ reputations. He created the award-winning NBC News Investigative Unit and was its Senior Investigative Producer, overseeing a team of correspondents and producers that exposed political and corporate scandals, as well as controversies within the defense, intelligence and law enforcement communities. Frank Caskin

Frank Caskin is an award-winning communications executive with decades of experience in television news, media relations, and business consulting. 

 
 

His extensive industry knowledge and strategic thinking have enabled clients to gain positive local, national, and international exposure. He has advised companies, trade associations, and news organizations on internal and external communications plans and has conducted media training for C-Suite executives in a number of industries.

For more than 10 years, Frank led the news operation and managed a 125-person staff at NBC-4, the top-rated television station in Washington, DC. He spearheaded coverage of major events, among them: the 9/11 attacks, the Virginia Tech massacre, and the DC Sniper rampage. He hired dozens of reporters and anchors, including current TODAY Show hosts Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie.

Frank created the first-ever news programming at the Fox television station in Hartford, Connecticut. He also launched a digital channel at NBC that featured lifestyle and entertainment content, and he produced Inside Washington, a nationally-syndicated political commentary program. He has won numerous Emmy awards, ranging from Best Newscast to Special Event and Breaking News coverage.
